Kimchi has officially started the Appalachian Trail, starting at Springer Mountain in Georgia – we’re looking forward to hearing from her next week. loving this! Great job on the hiker interviews Gizmo, so many of those folks had the same fears and hopes I did last year at kick off. You really nailed the emotion of it all… made me want to go jump on the trail right now!
Thanks Shiny! It was fun to talk to them all, so many expectations in one place! I sort of started this podcast so I wouldn’t feel so bad about not hiking this summer, but I’m not sure is working…
Great job of catching the starting hiker feeling, Gizmo. I hope you can get some of the same hikers as they progress, and hopefully complete a thru-hike, and see how close their perceptions were to reality. I know I was spot on for a few things and way off on other things. A great learning experience! Keep up the good work!

A little late to the party, but i just started listening and loving it! I thru-hiked the Long Trail this past summer (2016) and can relate to several of these people from the beginning, even though I wasn’t prepping to walk nearly as far.
